Wrexham are interested in signing young Manchester United striker Ethan Wheatley in January.
The Red Dragons are aiming to bring a new striker to the club in the upcoming winter window and have eyes on the Red Devils.
We revealed last week that Wrexham want to sign Ethan Wheatley from Manchester United on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.
Paul Mullin has just one league goal this season and the rest of the clubs’ strikers are still yet to surpass three goals – barring Jack Marriott who is out until February.
Wheatley only has four senior appearances to his name for Man Utd, meaning he wouldn’t bring an awful lot of experience to the club.
However, his record at youth level is pretty impressive – scoring 14 in 28 for United’s U21s.
As a result, he could be ready to step up and play regular senior football, with League One likely a good starting point.

Stockport County may have given Wrexham boost in Ethan Wheatley transfer race
Wrexham are not the only side in League One looking at the Manchester United gem, however.
TWI confirmed last week that Stockport County were also interested in signing the young number nine.
Stockport beat Phil Parkinson’s side earlier this season and are in the promotion picture alongside the Welsh outfit.
However, the club announced on Wednesday that they have signed Benony Breki Andresson from Icelandic Club KR.
Breki is set to link up with Stockport in January, which could end up being great news for Wrexham.
The Icelandic star is a striker, which could mean that the Hatters’ interest in Wheatley fades as they already have a number of centre-forward options available and Breki is set to add to that.
Whether or not that proves to be the case remains to be seen, but Wrexham fans will surely be hoping it is.

Wrexham Ethan Wheatley transfer warning
While Stockport signing a new centre-forward could help Wrexham, their rivals do have one potential advantage over them in the battle for Wheatley.
The 18-year-old was born in Stockport and Carlton Palmer sent Wrexham a warning about this earlier in the week.
He said: “Wrexham and Stockport are believed to be going head-to-head in a bid to sign Man United’s younger centre-forward Ethan Wheatley in the January transfer window.
“Wrexham currently sit second in the League One table on 40 points and they are going for another promotion.
“Stockport currently sit fifth on 33 points, seven points behind Wrexham and Wycombe Wanderers.
“It’s going to be interesting, Stockport might have an edge in signing Wheatley because he’s from the area, but given that Wrexham are seven points clear of them, he might look to go to Wrexham.”
On paper, the Red Dragons are a more attractive option for the youngster given their high profile.
But the possibility of staying close to home could persuade him to join Stockport instead – if they are still looking at him after already bringing in a new forward, of course.
