Wrexham have had a fair bit of success utilising the free-agent market in the 2024/25 season.
The Red Dragons kicked off the current campaign well-stocked in basically every area of the pitch.
However, Wrexham have suffered some big injuries that have forced the club to act in the market.
George Evans is a long-term absentee and when George Dobson and Andy Cannon were close to suspension, Phil Parkinson was facing the prospect of having very limited options in midfield.
In turn, they dipped into the free-agent market and signed former Bristol City star, Matty James.
Wrexham now want to offer James a new contract after his stellar start to life at the Racecourse Ground, aiming to tie him down until the end of 2024/25.
Elsewhere, Wrexham signed Brad Foster last week after their two main goalkeepers suffered injury blows.
Foster excelled vs Crewe on Tuesday and the club should now once again dip into the free-agent market to strengthen another problem area.
Wrexham want to sign a striker amid Paul Mullin’s struggles and Jack Marriott likely out until February.
And we have now picked out three free-agent centre-forwards they could sign in the hopes they follow in the footsteps of James and Foster.

Three free-agent strikers Wrexham could sign
Kemar Roofe
Kemar Roofe has been out of work since leaving Scottish powerhouse Rangers in the summer of 2024.
At 31, he still has plenty left to give before hanging up his boots for good and would bring plenty of experience from a much higher level to Wrexham.
Roofe has lined out for the likes of Leeds United, Rangers, and even enjoyed a short but prolific spell in Belgium with RSC Anderlecht.
All told he has made 404 appearances across his club career, scoring 134 goals and providing 57 assists.
Connor Wickham
Connor Wickham left Charlton Athletic in July 2024 and did struggle for playing time in 2023/24.
However, Wickham has previously proven himself at the highest level, notching 120 appearances in the Premier League.
He is a strong, powerful striker who could provide an alternative option to Ollie Palmer amid Modou Faal underperforming at Wrexham since his summer switch.

Lys Mousset
Lys Mousset is perhaps the biggest gamble on this list as he has been without a club since January 2024 following an exit from VfL Bochum.
However, if Wrexham can get him fit, he would surely be a solid option to compete with Mullin.
Mousset has 99 Premier League appearances to his name and while he did only score nine goals, it’s worth pointing out he played a lot of those games in a pretty woeful Sheffield United team.
