Wrexham’s strikers have not been at the top of their game during the 2024/25 League One season.
Jack Marriott got his campaign off to a flying start, scoring five goals in 10 league matches.
But he’s since been sidelined with a broken leg and in his absence, the rest of the club’s strikers have floundered.
Steven Fletcher set a Wrexham record when he came off the bench to score the winner against Peterborough United over the weekend.
But the Scotsman is no longer capable of completing 90 minutes and Phil Parkinson can’t afford to rely on him to save the Red Dragons every week, as he has done of late.
Wrexham are expected to sign a striker during the winter transfer window, however, and a quality option looks to now be available.

Emil Riis would be perfect signing for Wrexham
Since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took over the club in 2021, the Welsh side’s recruitment has been very smart.
For the most part, they have signed players who are already capable of playing at higher level than the league they are in.
Now, with a future in the Championship looking likely, Wrexham should be targeting players already proven in the second tier.
And one such star, who would also solve their goalscoring problems, could now be available this month.
Journalist Darren Witcoop has reported this week that Emil Riis, who is out of contract in the summer, could leave Preston North End in January.

Emil Riis goalscoring record compared to Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer
Riis joined Preston in 2020 from Danish side Randers FC and is now earning £9,600-a-week, as per Capology.
The Lilywhites aren’t having an amazing season, currently sitting 15th in the Championship table.
However, Riis is impressing in the second tier, already notching seven goals and two assists in 26 outings.
In comparison, Wrexham’s two main strikers from their recent promotion-winning campaigns are not faring anywhere near as well.
Paul Mullin has two League One goals and no assists in 23 matches this term, while Ollie Palmer has three goals and two assists in 35 matches.
