Who could Wrexham sign in January?
No names are given in the report but Wrexham have been linked with multiple strikers who have Championship experience in recent times.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Michael Smith stands out after Wrexham targeted a deal for him over the summer.
Wrexham held talks to sign Smith but couldn’t get the deal done, leaving Smith to stay with Wednesday.
Smith is out of contract at the end of the season and may fancy a January move having only started three Championship games for the owls this season.
The 33-year-old has scored three times in the Championship this term, including a stunner against Portsmouth in October.
Wrexham were also linked with Will Keane in August but the former Manchester United striker penned a new deal with Preston North End.
We can’t see Wrexham returning to that pursuit but with PNE struggling at the bottom end of the Championship, Wrexham may yet be able to tempt him away.
Another name to remember is Tom Bradshaw with the Millwall striker now returning from injury.
