One Championship striker who Wrexham have previously been interested in could be available in a cut-price deal; he would be far more cost-efficient than Kieffer Moore.
Wrexham are showing no signs of slowing down in the summer transfer window as they look to get their squad ready for the 2025/26 Championship season.
The Red Dragons are making moves in the window, having already signed Josh Windass following his Sheffield Wednesday departure, as well as Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle – both of whom have significantly improved Phil Parkinson’s attacking options.
Parkinson is looking for more depth in attack, however, which has seen Wrexham target Kieffer Moore from Sheffield United as a result.
It is likely that Wrexham would have to shell out a sizeable contract to attain the services of Moore, where, alternatively, they can travel across the Steel City and target a Sheffield Wednesday player who would be available for a far lower fee.

Wrexham should target Bailey Cadamarteri from Sheffield Wednesday instead of Kieffer Moore
One alternative to Kieffer Moore, whom Wrexham could target, is Bailey Cadamarteri from Sheffield Wednesday, whom the Red Dragons have previously been keen on.
In the summer of 2024, Wrexham were interested in Cadamarteri after he shone for Sheffield Wednesday in the 2023/24 season, playing somewhat regular Championship football under Danny Rohl.
Cadamarteri has since spent a season at Lincoln City in League One, where he bagged five goals in 23 appearances. Notably, the majority of Cadamarteri’s goals last season came against top opposition, having scored against Birmingham City, Stockport County, and Huddersfield Town, notably.
It is likely that Cadamarteri would be a solid back-up for Wrexham in the Championship, and would be a shrewd signing by the Red Dragons because of one key factor.

Bailey Cadamarteri deal would save Wrexham money to spend elsewhere
With Josh Windass and Ryan Hardie in the side, it is likely that Phil Parkinson has already decided his starting strikers ahead of the 2025/26 Championship season.
As a result, it makes more sense to opt for a cheaper option as a back-up striker, meaning that money can be spent in other areas.
Because of Sheffield Wednesday’s current financial situation, they are more likely to sell players for cheaper, and Cadamarteri would be far less demanding regarding a wage.
Wrexham have already been told why such a deal would work out for them after Sheffield Wednesday News got the thoughts of Cadamarteri from a Lincoln City expert’s perspective, as Jamie Johnson said: “Bailey Cadamarteri has impressed me so far this season. He has provided a zip, spark and real pace to the Imps’ attacking options.
“Bailey is a pacey, explosive forward. I think his off-the-ball work will improve during his loan stint at Lincoln too.
“But, his current strengths lay in getting in behind League One defences with ease, posing a real danger on the counter-attack.”
