Wrexham are set to conclude their Wrex Coast tour as they face MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday.

After an impressive pre-season, Wrexham will be hoping they can secure a win in their last Wrex Coast tour fixture.

The North Wales side face Vancouver Whitecaps at the BC Stadium on Sunday with a 00:30 kick-off time (UK).

Phil Parkinson will be pleased with his side’s performance levels in pre-season after facing tough Premier League opposition.

The Red Dragons started their League One preparations with a 5-1 win against Hanley Town before impressively drawing their two US fixtures with a 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth and a 2-2 draw with former European champions Chelsea.

After being impressed by the new summer signings, the former Sunderland manager has been pleased with his squad’s performance levels on the tour.

Parkinson has given minutes to all of the new arrivals with Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt, George Dobson, Callum Burton, and Sebastian Revan keen to challenge for a starting role at the Racecourse.

We take a look at the latest team news ahead of the Vancouver Whitecaps fixture.

Wrexham team news vs Vancouver Whitecaps

Wrexham will have been pleased with Elliot Lee returning in the 2-2 draw vs Chelsea in Santa Clara last time out. The English midfielder had missed the previous game against AFC Bournemouth due to a slight injury he picked up against Hanley in the first pre-season friendly.

The former Sunderland boss will be pleased with the fitness levels shown in the recent fixtures with the majority of his squad available for selection.

Paul Mullin continues his recovery away from the tour after surgery earlier this summer, with wing-back Jacob Mendy also unavailable for the Vancouver Whitecaps friendly.

How will Wrexham line up vs Vancouver Whitecaps

The former Bradford City coach named a strong side against Chelsea with the 56-year-old coach expected to name a similar XI.

Interestingly James McClean played as a forward last time out. However, Parkinson may look to rotate the team slightly with the veteran potentially returning to the left-wing back position.

The Wrexham boss started James Jones in midfield against the Premier League side, but with this being the last pre-season fixture on the Wrex-coast tour he may start Wrexham star Andy Cannon against Vancouver Whitecaps.
