Since Phil Parkinson took the managerial role at Wrexham, he has always been a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac and the impact they have made.
Wrexham’s journey continues to grip the footballing world, with the Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac-owned club now in the Championship following three successive promotions.
The Red Dragons were struggling in the lower echelons of the National League before Rob and Ryan went on an unexpected career twist and acquired the club.
While the debut season for Rob and Ryan threw up challenges, with Wrexham missing out on promotion after defeat to Grimsby Town in the play-offs, it laid the foundations for the success that was to come.
Rob and Ryan created distance from the footballing side of things, but Phil Parkinson was still very complimentary of the impact they had on the club and the benefits that brought.

Phil Parkinson’s praise for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac in 2021
When Wrexham appointed Phil Parkinson, many assumed that he would not be the correct fit for the club.
However, he embraced the challenge and the differences under the club run by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, and spoke about the tangible impact that they had on the club and the people associated with Wrexham.
Speaking back in 2021, Parkinson said: “The atmosphere has been electric inside the ground. I think just the positivity and the vibrancy of what Rob and Ryan have brought to the area, you can feel it.”
Wrexham owners Rob and Ryan fully embraced the local community when they took on their roles at the club, and while things have been positive on the pitch, the true reason behind the success has been the connection they have sparked with the fanbase and those in the town and local community.

Phil Parkinson has always been fond of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
During Wrexham’s successful times, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have always pointed towards the brilliant work done by Phil Parkinson, and this feeling has been mutual.
When Wrexham reached the Championship via automatic promotion from League One, Parkinson was quick to point to the Hollywood owners as the drivers of success for the North Wales club.
Via the BBC, speaking after the game, Parkinson said: “I think it’s about the collective. The owners have come in and done an amazing job,” said the Wrexham boss.
“I’m so pleased for them because they deserve it.
“There’s lots of ways you can be supportive as owners. It can be making sure we get a key player when it matters the most.
“But it can also be support when the results don’t go quite as well as you want them to, but still allowing us to do our jobs.
“That’s what they’ve always done. They’re invested in all of the decisions, but they trust us in our decision-making and that’s why we’ve had success over the last three years.”
The job is not done yet, however, as the Premier League is the next goal for Wrexham, and Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac will be keen to reach it as soon as possible.
