Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac took over Wrexham with Dean Keates still in the dugout, but the manager was quickly dismissed.
The North American duo’s takeover of the Red Dragons was completed in February 2021.
At the time, the 2020/21 National League season was in full swing, and the owners opted not to make too many changes.
They let the current group of Wrexham players and staff see out the campaign, giving all involved with the club a chance to prove themselves.
However, the season ended in disappointment, with the Welsh outfit missing out on the play-off places on the final day by a single point.
Shortly after 2020/21 came to a close, wholesale changes were implemented at the Racecourse Ground.

Why Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac dismissed Dean Keates
Wrexham appointed Phil Parkinson as their new manager in the summer of 2021, and have enjoyed much success under the former Bradford City man.
They have won three promotions in a row, justifying Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s reasoning for dismissing Keates.
At the time, the Hollywood duo released a joint statement, saying a change of manager would give them the best chance of returning to the EFL as soon as possible.
As per BBC Sport, it read: “We would like to thank Dean, Andy and Carl for all their efforts on behalf of the club, in what at times were challenging circumstances.
“We are committed to returning the club to the EFL at the earliest opportunity and feel that a change of manager will provide us with the best chance of achieving that objective.
“Dean, Andy and Carl will always be welcome at the club.”
Parkinson went on to finish second in the National League the following season before notching a historic run of back-to-back-to-back promotions.
Keates, meanwhile, has done little of note since departing the Racecourse Ground.

What does former Wrexham manager Dean Keates do now
Keates had a fairly brief stint as a manager following a 21-year playing career.
His first spell in charge of Wrexham came to an end in 2018 before he moved to Walsall.
Keates left Walsall a year later, returning to North Wales for his second and final stint in the dugout.
Interestingly, there is no record of the ex-Red Dragons boss working as a manager or coach since leaving the Dragons.
Keates does not have any public social media, seemingly preferring to keep his life after football private.
