Wrexham enjoyed a productive deadline day and managed to avoid any last-minute transfer problems.
A remarkable transfer window came to an end for Wrexham earlier in September, as Phil Parkinson landed three late signings.
Ben Sheaf, Issa Kabore and Dominic Hyam all arrived to finish off the window, meaning Wrexham ended with 13 summer signings.
The late flurry of signings marked a successful deadline day for Wrexham, and a far cry from the chaos around the 2023 summer transfer deadline.

Wrexham suffered Luke Armstrong nightmare on transfer deadline day in 2023
2023’s transfer deadline brought two impressive signings to Wrexham, as Arthur Okonkwo and George Evans both arrived.
The duo played their part in two promotions, and Okonkwo ended up joining permanently after a brilliant loan spell from Arsenal.
Parkinson ideally wanted three signings on that deadline day, but Wrexham encountered a nightmare in the final stages of deadline day.
‘Welcome to Wrexham’ has provided a brilliant look into everything around Wrexham: the community, the personal lives of the players, and Parkinson’s tirades in the dressing room.
The inner workings of Wrexham have been there for all to see, but the drama around Luke Armstrong’s proposed move has not been shown – and understandably so.
Wrexham teed up a £500,000 deal to sign Armstrong from Harrogate Town, after 28 goals in 91 League Two games.
Wrexham posted on X that all paperwork had been finalised for Armstrong’s signature, and the club were simply waiting for his registration to be approved.
However, the EFL ruled that the documentation did not arrive in time, and while Wrexham considered an appeal, it was eventually decided that there was ‘no reasonable chance of success’ for Wrexham.
Wrexham even apologised to Harrogate for the deal collapsing, as noted by BBC Sport, as Armstrong saw a move to the STōK Cae Ras fall through at the last minute.
Armstrong then moved on to Carlisle United in January 2024 as Wrexham completely backed away before signing Jack Marriott that same month.
We would have loved to see the inner workings of that deal on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, much like Dan James’ failed move to Leeds United being shown on Amazon Prime.
Wrexham avoiding the situation entirely is understandable, though, with full respect given to Armstrong and Harrogate after a dramatic deadline day.
Steven Fletcher became a Wrexham hero after Luke Armstrong drama
Wrexham still wanted to bring in another striker, but were limited to free agents after the transfer window closed.
Parkinson pulled off an absolute masterstroke, signing Steven Fletcher on a free transfer after his exit from Dundee United.
Fletcher became a Wrexham hero, scoring goals off the bench with regularity as he showed glimpses of his Premier League quality.
The Scot will go down as a real fan favourite from the Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds years, but it was all made possible by Wrexham missing out on Armstrong.
Whether you believe in fate or not, Fletcher certainly made the most of his opportunity in a Wrexham shirt.
Now a free agent, Fletcher has been linked with a return to Hibernian, though the Hibs Observer claim a deal is unlikely.
Wrexham fans will wish Fletcher all the best with whatever comes next, and can look back upon the Armstrong nightmare as a success thanks to Fletcher’s impact.
