Wrexham’s incoming business is not over just yet, as Phil Parkinson looks to bring more new faces to the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham were beaten 2-1 at Southampton last weekend, suffering late heartbreak against the relegated Saints.

Phil Parkinson’s side conceded two late goals to squander a 1-0 victory, though Wrexham would have been deserving of all three points.

Wrexham then beat Hull City in the Carabao Cup, producing a stunning late show to see off the Tigers on penalties.

Parkinson will look for a first league win of the season against West Bromwich Albion this weekend, but is also thinking about potential signings.

Nathan Broadhead has now joined Wrexham, but Parkinson is also chasing a new central defensive addition.

Conor Coady could reunite with Wrexham target Jack Robinson yet again

Parkinson appears to be in the market for a left-sided centre-back, with a couple of targets emerging.

Wrexham have targeted Manchester City’s Callum Doyle, but a more experienced option may be inbound instead.

Wrexham are keen to sign Jack Robinson from Sheffield United, though the Blades have just lost a defender after selling Anel Ahmedhodzic to Feyenoord.

Wrexham would love to add Robinson to Parkinson’s back line, and may see an ideal partnership with Conor Coady.

Robinson would play just to the left of Coady, and the pair already know each other very, very well.

Remarkably, Robinson and Coady have played together with not one, not two, but three different teams in their careers.

Robinson and Coady emerged in the Liverpool ranks together and progressed through the academy into the reserves and Under-21 setup.

The two defenders were also regulars together for England at youth level, playing together for the Under-17s and Under-19s.

Robinson and Coady then reunited yet again at Huddersfield Town, teaming up for 29 appearances with the Terriers during the 2014-15 season.

The two defenders have played together more than 60 times across their careers, and their strong rapport could be a factor behind Wrexham’s interest in Robinson.

More than 10 years on, Wrexham could bring Robinson and Coady back together again, and would hope to see them rekindle their connection at the STōK Cae Ras.

Sheffield United boss on Jack Robinson

Wrexham may test Sheffield United’s resolve over Robinson, and boss Ruben Selles has remained coy on a potential transfer.

As quoted on Sheffield United’s official website, Selles admitted that he can ‘never say never’ over potential sales, such as Robinson.

Selles claims that there are a ‘lot of factors’ over Robinson, and couldn’t guarantee that the Blades captain would stay put this summer.

“Let’s see. I never say never, and I think there’s a lot of factors on that for the moment,” said Selles.

“That’s all I can say because due to the nature of the situation right now, I’m not going to talk about more than 24/48 hours. He’s our player, our captain, and he’s ready to play tomorrow,” he added, before facing Birmingham City.

Wrexham may have taken some encouragement from those comments, and Coady will surely send a message or two to Robinson about a potential reunion at Wrexham.
