Wrexham players are now in Australia having flown out for pre-season fixtures against A-League teams in the coming days.
Wrexham’s promotion-clinching 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic feels like it was last week, but we are now just a month away from the start of the Championship season.
Phil Parkinson masterminded three promotions in a row, and Wrexham’s Championship preparations are well underway.
Wrexham will face Southampton on the opening weekend of the season, handing Parkinson a tough test to kick off the campaign.
Parkinson has taken his Wrexham squad to Australia ahead of games against Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC, before heading to New Zealand to face Wellington Phoenix.

Phil Parkinson on potential Wrexham signings
Wrexham’s travelling squad features two new signings, but Parkinson would be forgiven for wishing more new faces were on board.
Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward have joined Wrexham and will be making their first appearances in Australia.
Fans had been hoping for more business and Parkinson is surely in a similar boat.
Speaking to ESPN, Parkinson has now been asked whether Wrexham are working on potential signings with the idea of flying them out to join the tour in Australia.
Parkinson admitted that, if Wrexham can secure a signing in the next few days, then they would travel to join the Wrexham squad.
Parkinson drew attention to Wrexham’s young players, though, preferring to focus on the talent he has at his disposal rather than any potential incomings.
“Obviously, yeah, in the next three or four days, if something happened then we’d bring somebody over, but at the moment it’s what we’ve got over here,” said Parkinson.
“We’ve got a decent squad, we’ve got some of our young players, which is really important because we’ve just started our academy up over the last couple of years, and it’s great to give the young players an opportunity and I want to try and give as many of them some game time on this trip as well because it’s very important for the club going forward,” he added.
Wrexham could make a splash in New Zealand
It’s certainly interesting that Wrexham have been linked with Australia and New Zealand internationals of late.
Australia’s Ryan Teague was linked with Wrexham before completing a move to KV Mechelen in Belgium.
New Zealand star Liberato Cacace is now on Wrexham’s radar in a potential £3.5million move from Empoli.
The chances of Wrexham striking a deal and agreeing on all formalities for Cacace’s signature before facing Wellington Phoenix are slim at best.
If Wrexham can somehow pull this deal off and fly Cacace out to Australia or New Zealand, his participation would surely create a huge buzz for the back end of the tour.
Wrexham won’t make signings just to create hype, but Cacace’s first appearance coming in New Zealand would be quite the story.
