Wrexham are signing Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town for £10m, and fans have had a lot to say.

After signing Sam Smith in January, Wrexham have already broken their transfer record on two occasions this summer.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are not messing around when it comes to spending, however.

It has been reported for some time that Wrexham wanted Nathan Broadhead and were willing to pay Ipswich Town £7.5m.

However, it has now emerged that after the Tractor Boys delayed their decision, Wrexham have offered £10m for Broadhead, and it’s been accepted.

Wrexham told they are being ripped off for Nathan Broadhead

That figure is more than double the Dragons’ current record signing and has prompted a lot of reaction from rival fans.

One fan wrote: “What a rip off. Shocking business from Wrexham.”

A second responded: “I mean, he’s a good player at this level but Jesus Christ, Ipswich laughing all the way to the bank.”

“Shocking business from Wrexham,” another supporter echoed.

A fourth asked: “1 year left on his deal and he is going for £10m??”

Another tweeted: “Broadhead for 10m is crazy with a year left on his deal class player but that fee is too good to turn down just hope it’s reinvested #itfc”.

While a sixth stated: “Insane. Great business for Ipswich.”

Nathan Broadhead stats

Ipswich signed Broadhead from Premier League outfit Everton in 2023 for an undisclosed transfer fee.

He has since made 84 appearances for the Tractor Boys in all competitions, scoring 23 and assisting 12.

Broadhead is a natural left-winger but can play all across the front line.

Unless Phil Parkinson changes formation, it’s expected he will be deployed up front next to someone like Kieffer Moore.
