Wrexham have been excellent at recruiting top stars since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought the club.
The Red Dragons have spent big since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took over the club in 2021.
Wrexham broke their transfer record twice during the 2024 summer transfer window, first paying £500,000 for Ollie Rathbone and then £590,000 for Modou Faal just a few weeks later.
The amount of funds put into the Welsh outfit by the Americans is not appreciated by everyone, however, with Jack Grimmer backing Wrexham to spend big in January.
The Wycombe Wanderers man and his teammates are currently leading League One ahead of Wrexham but fears the spending power of Phil Parkinson’s side and Birmingham City will aid their respective promotion pushes massively.
However, while nobody can really argue the Hollywood-owned club have spent a fair chunk in the last three years, it is not just about throwing money at the wall, with the type of player signed equally as important.

Wrexham model transfer recruitment around James McClean
In their three years in charge, Rob and Ryan, debatably, have still not signed any sort of flop for the club.
Lewis Brunt did have a slow start to life at the Racecourse Ground after his summer switch from Leicester City.
But after starring in their last two League One fixtures, both of which ended in wins and clean sheets, Wrexham fans have praised Brunt heavily.
Now, as per The Athletic, Parkinson has revealed that the Red Dragons try to sign players similar to James McClean due to his mentality and will to win.
He said: “The mentality of the group is also strong. James McClean (Wrexham’s captain) leads that mentality. His will to win spreads through the team and we’ve tried to recruit players of that ilk.”

Wrexham January transfer plans
Nine players joined Wrexham over the summer while a further two arrived last month as free agents.
However, the promotion-chasing side are expected to once again recruit when the 2025 winter window opens in just over a month.
Wrexham have been offered at least 12 strikers heading into the January transfer window and are expected to sign at least one number nine in a bid to make a proper push for an automatic promotion place.
Exactly whom the Wrexham owners are set to target remains to be seen for the time being but the club are not likely to be short of potential options once their plans kick into gear.
