Paul Mullin could be set to link up with a former teammate he helped win promotion with four years ago.

Wrexham are set to compete in the Championship next season and are already being linked with plenty of players competing at a higher level.

Strikers appear to be a priority again as Callum Robinson and Ryan Hardie are of interest to Phil Parkinson and Co.

As well as a new number nine, defensive reinforcements are being looked at by the Welsh outfit.

Jack Kingdon has been linked to Wrexham amid his contract with Premier League side Manchester United running down.

The Red Dragons are interested in Maksym Talovierov of Plymouth Argyle as well, reports last week suggested.

Meanwhile, Wrexham and Birmingham City want Harry Darling of Swansea City.

Paul Mullin and Wrexham target Harry Darling have history

Darling is out of contract next month and will become a free agent, making him an attractive pickup for many sides.

Should he choose to move to the Hollywood-backed side instead of Birmingham or other potential suitors, he will be reuniting with former teammate Paul Mullin.

Mullin joined Wrexham in the summer of 2021, leaving Cambridge United on a free transfer after winning promotion to League One.

The striker, including a loan spell, spent 18 months with Cambridge, during which time he played alongside Darling.

The defender joined the U’s as a youngster before eventually sealing a permanent move to MK Dons in January 2021.

Despite leaving the club midway through their promotion-winning season, Darling still made 16 League Two appearances for Cambridge that term, earning himself a medal alongside Mullin and the rest of the team.

The 25-year-old has since moved to Swansea and has been called ‘heroic’, as per the club’s website, during his time in Wales, and the recent reports mean he could be set to remain in the country and link up with his former teammate at Wrexham.

Will Paul Mullin still be at Wrexham next season

There has been much speculation over Mullin’s Wrexham future in the last few months.

He has not played a league match since January 28, so it’s easy to see why there is talk of a potential exit.

However, Parkinson has already confirmed plans for Mullin going into the new season, with the centre-forward set to take part in the club’s 2025 pre-season.

So, should Darling indeed sign when his deal runs out, it means he will be linking up with the Liverpool-born star for at least a few weeks.
