Wrexham’s North American tour is over and the start of the new League One season is drawing ever closer for Phil Parkinson and co.

The ‘Wrex Coast Tour’ ended up being an impressive showcase of Wrexham’s quality ahead of the League One campaign.

Wrexham were able to secure draws against Premier League sides Bournemouth and Chelsea in the United States.

Phil Parkinson’s men then travelled up to Canada, beating MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps 4-1 with a superb performance.

This weekend’s clash with Fleetwood Town will be the final friendly before the League One kick off against Wycombe Wanderers.

Wrexham have added five new signings this summer but may still look to make more additions before the first game of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur set to make decision on Wrexham target

Wrexham may be forced into the market for another striker.

Paul Mullin underwent surgery earlier this summer and it’s unclear just when he will be available to play again.

Wrexham do have other striking options but Wrexham boss Parkinson may be keep to add one more option to his front line.

Reports earlier in July suggested that Wrexham have launched an enquiry for Tottenham Hotspur striker Will Lankshear.

Wrexham are thought to be challenging Championship duo Hull City and Sunderland for the loan signing of Lankshear.

Hopes of taking Lankshear on loan suffered something of a delay when Tottenham named him in their squad for a pre-season tour to Asia.

Tottenham may still plan to loan Lankshear out though as Spurs prepare to return to England.

The Athletic claim that Tottenham are ready to review loan offers for Lankshear as they prepare to let him move out for the season.

Teams in the Championship, League One and even in Europe are thought to be making moves for Lankshear.

Wrexham may well be that League One interest, but beating the competition to his signature will not be easy.

Lankshear scores in Tottenham win

Lankshear has been in action on Wednesday, coming off the bench as Tottenham beat Team K League 4-3 in Seoul.

The striker found the net with what proved to be the winning goal, continuing to make an impact this pre-season.

Tottenham may still feel that the 19-year-old needs to move on and play games elsewhere but he has certainly done his best to make an impact under Ange Postecoglou.

Wrexham have plenty of experienced strikers in Mullin, Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher.

Adding a young prospect on loan could be the ideal complement and Lankshear has shown the quality to make a real impact – but Wrexham are just left waiting for Tottenham to make a decision.
