Wrexham are heading into one of the most important transfer windows of the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era.
Having secured historic back-to-back-to-back promotions, the Welsh outfit are now set to embark upon their first season in the Championship since 1982.
And while the current squad of players have done a remarkable job to upset the odds and get out of League One at the first time of asking – a supercomputer backed Wrexham to finish in 20th place during the 2024/25 season – there is a huge need for an influx of new signings this summer.
Rob and Ryan are projected to have a ‘big’ summer of business, and a key part of the plans is the potential free agent signing of Wales international Tom Lawrence.

Here’s everything Wrexham fans need to know about the potential summer signing.
When was Tom Lawrence born?
Lawrence was born on January 13 1994, and is a Wrexham native. The creative player is 31 at the time of writing and signed his first professional contract back in 2012 while at Manchester United.
Height
Tom Lawrence is 1.80m tall (5 foot 11 inches).
Where does Tom Lawrence play?
Throughout his long career, Lawrence has been utilised in various attacking roles including left wing and as an attacking central midfielder. The latter is his preferred position, and given Wrexham‘s penchant for playing 3-5-2, probably the position he’d naturally fit in at the Racecourse Ground too.

“I know some people may have looked at the decision I made in the summer, when I made him captain, and thought it was a bit controversial – but I knew it was in Tom. I have known him for a long time, since he was a young lad at Manchester United, and I know how to get the best out of him.”
