Phil Parkinson will be under no illusions that his Wrexham squad needs a revamp this summer, with both squad depth and the level of quality needing to be improved.

Wrexham fighting Leeds United for signature of Aaron Cresswell
As per Alan Nixon on Patreon, Wrexham and Leeds United are the two teams in the running for free agent Cresswell this summer, and it could be that the Red Dragons hold the advantage.
It is said that Cresswell’s desire to be close to his home in Merseyside could tempt him into joining Wrexham in North Wales and ply his trade in the Championship.
Cresswell is expected to want regular football after leaving West Ham, and Nixon suggests Wrexham are the most likely to offer that opportunity.
While recently-promoted Leeds are also considering Cresswell, they would see him more as a squad player. It is also said that Wrexham may be able to offer a more attractive financial package to the 35-year-old, which could see them win the battle.

What do the fans think of Aaron Cresswell rumours?
Fans have had their say on the idea of Cresswell potentially coming to the Racecourse Ground, and it seems they’re generally on board with the transfer.
One said: “Phil Parkinson will want to prove he is a more proven manager at this level. Will James McClean, if he stays, have the legs to compete with the best, younger legs in the league?”
Another added: “I think it would be an interesting signing for Wrexham if they can persuade a player of Premier League experience to ply his trade in the Championship.”
Others said, “Wouldn’t even be a bad signing,” and “Don’t hate it at all.”
But, there are some concerns, with fans highlighting the fact Wrexham are chasing yet another ageing player to add to their already fairly old squad.
One fan wrote: “Don’t get me wrong would be brilliant for us in the Championship but if we get promoted and have more ageing players who can’t do it in the league above then we are f—–.”
Another added, “Think him and McClean would be too much experience in one position. We’ve got to bring in some more pace.”
