Wrexham continue to be linked with potential signings as Phil Parkinson’s summer of spending shows no sign of ending.
Wrexham snapped up Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town last Thursday, shattering the club’s transfer record in the process.
Broadhead arrived for £7.5million rising to £10million, taking Wrexham’s summer outlay to the region of £20million.
The spending will not end there, though, as Wrexham are now closing in on Callum Doyle.
The Manchester City defender is expected to join Wrexham for around £8million, and more signings could follow.
Reports in France claim that Wrexham are chasing Jordan James in £4.3million swoop on Rennes, and another midfielder is now in the mix.

Wrexham leapfrog Rangers in Andy Irving race
Reporter Pete O’Rourke claims Wrexham are now looking to bring West Ham United midfielder Andy Irving to the STōK Cae Ras.
It’s stated that Wrexham have even moved ahead of Rangers in the race to sign Irving.
The Scotsman reported Rangers’ interest in Irving last week, but Wrexham are now trying to convince him into a move.
Irving was named on the bench for West Ham’s opening-day defeat at Sunderland, coming on to play just eight minutes.
West Ham are interested in a number of midfielders according to The Guardian, with Barcelona’s Marc Casado, Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber and Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes all wanted.
25-year-old Irving may drop down the pecking order if even one of those targets can be secured, and Wrexham may look to prise him away with the promise of first-team football.
Hammers News claim that West Ham want around £3.5million for Irving, though whether Wrexham plan to move for both Irving and James remains to be seen.
Wrexham target Andy Irving’s strange career path
You would do well to find a player whose career matches Irving’s.
The Scot hails from Edinburgh and came through the Heart of Midlothian youth ranks, eventually emerging to make 59 first-team appearances.
Irving made a surprise move in 2021, joining third-tier German side Turkgucu Munchen, where he spent just one year before heading to Austria with Austria Klagenfurt.
Irving carved out a reputation as a goalscoring midfielder in Austria, sparking a shock deal with West Ham United in 2023.
The Hammers allowed Irving to stay on loan in Austria for the 2023-24 season, where he scored nine times in 28 league games.
Irving played Premier League football last season, meaning he had gone from Germany’s third tier to England’s top flight in just three years.
First-team chances have been hard to come by, though, and Irving may be tempted to make another move for regular playing time, with Wrexham now offering that opportunity ahead of the transfer deadline.
