Wrexham continue to chase new striking additions but appear to have hit a brick wall in pursuit of one Championship forward.
Wrexham enjoyed a superb 3-0 win over Reading on Saturday afternoon, leaving Royals boss Ruben Selles rueing a ‘difficult’ day.
Phil Parkinson was even able to welcome back Paul Mullin from injury as Wrexham made it seven points from the first three League One games.
This has been a fine start to the season but Wrexham fans are still looking for one more attacking addition.
Even with Jack Marriott earning praise from Parkinson, the feeling is that Wrexham need another goalscorer – and one bid has allegedly been rejected.

Wrexham bid for Preston North End striker rejected
Wrexham fancy Sheffield Wednesday’s Michael Smith as Parkinson again eyes an experienced striker for his front line.
A new name is now in the mix though as reporter Pete O’Rourke claims that Wrexham have failed with a bid for Will Keane.
It’s stated that Wrexham have offered £750,000 for Preston North End striker Keane but that bid has been booted out.
Cardiff City West Bromwich Albion have also been chasing Keane with PNE attempting to fend off all interest.
It remains to be seen whether Wrexham return with another offer but North End don’t seem keen to do business right now.
PNE have seen Ched Evans take on a coaching role whilst fellow striker Layton Stewart could be loaned out.
Keane is PNE’s most dependable striker and Wrexham may hope to turn his head with the lure of joining the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds project.
Who is Will Keane?
Keane is the brother of Everton defender Michael Keane with both starting the Manchester United ranks.
The Stockport-born forward only managed three first-team appearances for United though and spent difficult loan spells with Wigan Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and PNE.
Spells with Hull City and Ipswich Town didn’t get Keane back on track either and he had scored just 11 goals in 105 league appearances before joining Wigan permanently in 2020.
That move really saw Keane kick his career into gear as he racked up 50 goals in 128 outings for the Latics.
Now 31, Keane scored 13 times upon his return to Deepdale last season and scored the winner against Luton Town last weekend.
Out of contract at the end of the season, Keane has become something of a late bloomer – and PNE will have to weigh up whether to fend Wrexham off or cash in this week.
