Wrexham bid welcome to Morecambe this weekend as they look to bounce back after defeat against Accrington Stanley immediately. Here’s our predicted XI…
Last time out, Wrexham suffered their first loss since September as Accrington Stanley secured a 2-0 victory at home.
It must be said that it was an off day for Phil Parkinson’s side who have been an immovable force for the majority of this League Two campaign.
At the Wham Stadium, the Reds never really got going and the home side were able to capitalise on that to great effect.
Minutes after coming on, Will Boyle gave away a penalty which Tommy Leigh duly dispatched. With less than 20 minutes left on the clock, Stanley’s lead was doubled by Rosaire Longelo, putting the game out of Wrexham’s reach.
Next up is a trip to Morecambe who currently sit in 9th place despite a very difficult summer window. The Shrimps have lost their last two league games and will also be looking to bounce back with a win.
Parkinson’s side will see this game as a must-win to bounce back with three points, so here is our predicted XI to face Morecambe…
Wrexham Predicted XI
As has been an ever presence in League Two this season, Arthur Okonkwo will start in goal for the Reds. This is as he looks to secure his fifth clean sheet of the campaign.
Last time out James McClean and Jacob Mendy were both missing due to being called up for international duty. Coming into this game it is likely that one of the pair will feature and Anthony Forde will start on the opposite flank. Jordan Davies will drop out of the XI despite deputising out of position against Accrington.

Parkinson suggested that Tom O’Connor picked up an injury last time out so he is likely to miss out. With Boyle giving away a penalty last time, will he come into the XI? Given the form of George Evans in midfield, Boyle is likely to start this time around. Alongside him will be the trusted pair of Ben Tozer and Aaron Hayden such is their form right now.
The midfield has a chance to go unchanged with Evans, Elliot Lee and James Jones. Captain, Luke Young may be looking to get a start, but he wasn’t brought on last time out.
Up top there is a toss-up between Sam Dalby and Ollie Palmer once again. Paul Mullin did miss a penalty last time out but is very likely to reprise his role up front. Palmer scored against Gillingham but was dropped for Stanley. We predict that Dalby will maintain his spot in the starting XI.
Wrexham predicted XI: Okonkwo, Forde, Hayden, Tozer, Boyle, McClean, Jones, Evans, Lee, Dalby, Mullin
