Wrexham returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, beating Norwich City 3-2 after a brilliant display at Carrow Road.

The away-day Reds have enjoyed another fantastic weekend on the road.

Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 away from home in August and, after losing at home to Queens Park Rangers last weekend, Phil Parkinson’s side hit back with another away victory.

Wrexham trailed at the break through Jack Stacey’s goal, before Josh Windass scored twice in a stunning start to the second half, with a Ryan Longman goal sandwiched in between.

From 1-0 down to 3-1 up in the blink of an eye, Wrexham grabbed all three points even as the Canaries pulled one back late on through Jovon Makama.

George Thomason message to Wrexham fans

Last week’s defeat against QPR was a major disappointment, but that is just the nature of the Championship.

Win one, lose one, draw one, win one again: that is often the life of a Championship club, so it’s important not to get too low after a defeat.

Parkinson always stays level-headed and would certainly have been excited to unleash some summer signings on the Canaries.

George Thomason made his first appearance, coming off the bench while deadline day signings Ben Sheaf, Issa Kabore and Dominic Hyam all started.

Thomason joined Wrexham from Bolton Wanderers over the summer, but a pre-season injury has kept him on the sidelines.

The 24-year-old finally made his first competitive Wrexham appearance on Saturday, coming on for the final 15 minutes against Norwich.

Thomason has now taken to social media to react, sending a message to Wrexham fans following a superb away win on his debut.

Thomason praised the ‘top class’ Wrexham fans who made the trip to Carrow Road, admitting that he is ‘delighted’ to have finally made his Championship debut.

‘Delighted to have made my Championship debut for this football club. A great win, the travelling support was top class,’ said Thomason.

George Thomason primed for Carabao Cup action

Thomason has been given a taste of first-team action, and will now hope for his first competitive start.

That opportunity may not be too far away, as Wrexham take on Reading in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Parkinson usually rotates his squad for these cup games, and Thomason may be given a chance to make his first start.

Thomason needs minutes, and if Wrexham’s medical team decide that he can get through an hour, Parkinson may hand him a chance to shine.
