Wrexham have wrapped up another signing with Bolton Wanderers midfielder George Thomason completing his move to the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham are less than three weeks away from the start of the Championship season.

Southampton will be Wrexham’s first opponents of the Championship season, and business is ramping up at the STōK Cae Ras.

Phil Parkinson is a very busy man, as Wrexham signed Liberato Cacace on Friday, and Josh Windass is expected to undergo a medical on Monday.

The deal to sign Windass is not done just yet, but Wrexham have now confirmed another signing just days after Cacace finalised his switch.

George Thomason on Wrexham transfer

Reports over the weekend suggested that George Thomason completed a medical with Wrexham ahead of joining from Bolton Wanderers.

Wrexham are believed to be paying around £1.2million to sign Thomason, and he has now signed a three-year contract at the STōK Cae Ras.

Thomason has been on a superb journey through the leagues, having been let go by Blackpool as a teenager.

Thomason excelled with non-league side Longridge Town and has impressed for Bolton in both League Two and League One.

The 24-year-old has now become Wrexham’s latest midfield addition and has reflected on his move while speaking to the club’s official website.

“I’m buzzing to be here, and I can’t wait to be a part of the journey that the Club has been on,” said Thomason.

“It’s a really exciting time to be a part of the Football Club, and it’s going to be a really exciting season,” he added.

Phil Parkinson on George Thomason deal

Wrexham boss Parkinson has been in the market for a left-footed midfielder all summer.

Tom Cairney decided to stay at Fulham, and Wrexham’s pursuit of Lewis O’Brien has stumbled of late.

Thomason fits the bill, though, offering the balance Parkinson has been seeking in his engine room.

Parkinson certainly seems pleased with the move, telling Wrexham’s official website that

“We’re delighted to welcome George to the Club. We’re looking forward to getting him in training with the lads later this week, and fully integrating him into the group,” he added.
