Wrexham’s jam-packed schedule continues as they travel to Preston North End in the EFL Cup 2nd round.

Wrexham will be hoping to respond to their draw to Sheffield Wednesday last time out as a trip to Preston North End awaits in the EFL Cup.

The Red Dragons have endured a fairly disappointing start to the campaign, having been unable to pick up a win in the Championship so far.

Contrastingly, the Racecourse Ground was treated to a blockbuster in the first round of the EFL Cup after Wrexham beat Hull City on penalties after two late Ollie Palmer goals.

Wrexham could reach the third round for the first time in 43 years against Preston North End, a spectacle that you will surely not want to miss.

Preston North End vs Wrexham kick-off time

The game between Wrexham and Preston North End is scheduled to kick off at 19:45 UK, 14:45 ET, 12:45 PT on Tuesday 26th August.

Just like the previous round in the EFL Cup, where Wrexham took the game to penalties courtesy of a brace from Ollie Palmer, the tie will go immediately to spot-kicks if level after 90 minutes, meaning it will not be too late of a night for UK Wrexham supporters.

Wrexham team news vs Preston North End

It is expected that Phil Parkinson will make several changes to his Wrexham side, just as he did for the first round against Hull City.

Parkinson will want to prioritise keeping his players fresh and ensure his key men do not pick up any injuries.

The Red Dragons boss does not have any fresh concerns after the draw with Sheffield Wednesday, but Josh Windass is still out with a muscle injury, whilst Liberato Cacace continues to be absent for Wrexham with a minor knock.

Ollie Rathbone is still injured and will continue his lengthy absence, whilst Jay Rodriguez and Andy Cannon are also unavailable to Parkinson.
