Wrexham’s unbeaten home record this season has now gone after a frustrating 3-2 home defeat the hands of Stevenage.
Wrexham went into Tuesday’s clash with Stevenage boasting the best home record in League One.
15 games played, 12 wins, three draws, 39 points – Wrexham were the gold standard in terms of home form.
It’s just as well really; Wrexham have been poor on the road this season and have needed that great home record.
Wrexham still have the best home record in League One but it has been tarnished a little by defeat to Stevenage.
Stevenage were by far the better side and having gone 2-0 up, they stood firm against Wrexham pressure to see out a 3-2 win.

Alex Revell on beating Wrexham
This just wasn’t Wrexham’s night and Stevenage were deserved winners.
Stevenage skipper Carl Piergianni has praised the Wrexham back line but he’s right in saying that they were simply torn part on the night.
Wrexham’s unbeaten home run is over and wins for Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers only made the night worse for Phil Parkinson.
Parkinson wants more signings before Monday’s transfer deadline but his current squad has now been praised.
Stevenage boss Alex Revell has told their official YouTube channel that the Wrexham squad is ‘strong’.
Revell feels that it’s not just the starting XI or the substitutes which highlight Wrexham’s depth, but the players who aren’t even involved at all.
Revell believes that Stevenage should have been out of sight after going 2-0 up but knew the Wrexham quality would show at some point in the second half.
“We should have been out of sight to be honest, but you always know what’s coming, with the players they’ve got and the players that aren’t even in the squad,” said Revell.
“This team is strong, so it’s a magnificent win,” he added.
Wrexham players knocking on the door
Just look at the players who didn’t even get on the bench, either through injury or selection.
Parkinson has hinted at changes against Crawley Town this weekend and perhaps some players who weren’t involved on Tuesday night.
Callum Burton, Lewis Brunt, Will Boyle, Jacob Mendy, Luke Bolton, James Jones, George Evans, Andy Cannon and Modou Faal were nowhere to be seen.
Some of those players would walk into other League One sides right now and Revell would no doubt love to take some of those to Stevenage.
Perhaps some of those players will be back in the mix to face Crawley this weekend with Parkinson looking to freshen things up.
Other managers may be a touch envious of this Wrexham squad but if Parkinson wants promotion to the Championship, more signings may be needed to provide an extra jolt of quality.
