Wrexham and Derby County went head-to-head in a Championship fixture at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday, and Issa Kabore shone.

Phil Parkinson started Lewis Brunt against Derby County, which was the only Wrexham change following their win over Norwich City last weekend.

The tie got off to a slow start for the Red Dragons, who were penned back in their own half for the opening 15 minutes or so.

Wrexham had some joy getting forward down their right, however, with Issa Kabore once again impressing on that flank.

But the first 45 drew to a close with neither outfit really looking at their best in the final third.

The Dragons took the lead in the 58th minute, however, when Kabore’s cross was headed home by Lewis O’Brien.

Wrexham fans on Issa Kabore performance vs Derby County

Kabore joined Wrexham from Manchester City on transfer deadline day earlier this month.

The wing-back has now started two games in a row and already has three assists to his name this season.

Following his brilliant whipped cross for O’Brien’s goal, fans have taken to social media to praise the defender.

One fan wrote: “Kabore is pure class, need him to stay beyond the season.”

A second tweeted: “Issa Kabore is absolutely unreal btw. What a signing.”

“Kabore is far too good to be playing in the Championship,” added another.

A fourth Wrexham fan stated: “Kabore doing beautiful things @Wrexham_AFC.”

Another reacted: “Kabore is a beast! Great service and a hell of a finish by O’Brien!”

While another Red Dragons supporter claimed: “Issa Kaboré is insanely good.”

Wrexham will have new Issa Kabore partner soon

It’s fair to say that Wrexham have signed a serious player in Kabore.

Even in the first half, when Parkinson’s men looked less threatening, he was still creating chances down the right.

Wrexham’s attack could be even more lethal in the coming weeks as well.

Liberato Cacace is currently injured, but when he returns, the former Serie A talent is expected to be the starting left-wing-back.

The wide areas are so important to Parkinson’s system, and having Kabore and Cacace fit at the same time could turn Wrexham into a deadly attacking force.
