A former Wrexham player now has a higher transfer value than Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer combined.

Wrexham had a lot of difficult decisions to make after the close of the 2024/25 season.

With a place in the Championship secured, changes needed to be made to the squad, and they were.

A total of 20 players left Wrexham over the summer, with eight being released at the end of their contracts.

One transfer decision was taken out of Phil Parkinson’s hands, however, with a star departing for nothing by choice.

Released Wrexham star worth more than Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer

Sam Dalby turned down a Wrexham contract in 2025 after he had been on a prolific run of form while out on loan at Dundee United.

The striker scored 15 goals in 37 matches for the Scottish outfit, surpassing his goal tally with the Dragons in just one season.

As expected, this major upturn in form has seen Dalby’s transfer value increase in the last several months.

According to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old was valued at €275,000 in June 2024.

Following his spell with Dundee United and subsequent Wrexham departure, his market value has more than doubled.

Their latest valuation says that Dalby is now worth €900,000, which works out at around £786,000.

Dalby was not the only striker to leave North Wales this summer, however.

Paul Mullin moved on loan to Wigan Athletic for the 2025/26 season and has faced off against Dalby in League One.

Ollie Palmer’s Wrexham contract was terminated so he could join Swindon Town.

Elsewhere, Jack Marriott was sold to Reading, but did not feature in their recent Carabao Cup meeting.

Currently, Mullin has a market value of €550,000, Palmer is worth €100,000, and Marriott has been given a €500,000 valuation.
