Wrexham will travel to face Accrington Stanley this weekend as they look to make it six wins on the bounce in all competitions. This is our predicted XI…

In the months of October and November, so far, Wrexham have gone unbeaten in league and cups, winning all bar two games.

Under Phil Parkinson, the Reds have become a formidable force in League Two and are genuine promotion contenders.

Last time out a 2-0 home win over Gillingham was secured thanks to goals from Ollie Palmer and Ben Tozer.

The first was scored with less than a minute on the clock. Palmer stepped up in place a suspended Paul Mullin, with a goal. The defender, Tozer grabbed the all important second goal and helped the Reds to secure yet another win.

Next up is a trip to Accrington to face Stanley who currently find themselves in a very respectable eighth place. With that being said, they haven’t picked up a win in their last four matches so will be looking to right that.

Parkinson’s side will see this as an opportunity to add to their stellar run, so here is our predicted XI to face Accrington Stanley…

Wrexham Predicted XI

This game falls in the middle of the international break and as a result, Wrexham are without two stars. Jacob Mendy and James McClean have been called up to Gambia and the Republic of Ireland respectively. As a result, changes will have to happen.

With that being said, the goalkeeper position is one that will stay consistent. Arthur Okonkwo will line up between the sticks. Although Luke McNicholas impressed in cup competitions, the Arsenal loanee is the undisputed number one.

Last time out, Aaron Hayden, Ben Tozer and Thomas O’Connor lined up in the three central defender roles. Against Stanley, that should stay the same in the XI.

The wing-back roles are the questionable positions of this team. Anthony Forde has recently returned from injury and performed well against the Gills. He will likely maintain his spot in the side.

On the left hand side of the back five, with Mendy missing, who should replace him? Liam McAlinden is one player in Parkinson’s squad that is able to play as a wing back. He may come in on the left or right of the back line. The Two Irish wing backs may swap and change when it comes to the side they play on in the XI.

After some great performances against Gillingham, the midfield should stay the same. James Jones, George Evans and Elliot Lee were integral to the win and are more than deserving to keep their place.

Palmer scored last time out, you would expect him to maintain his spot in the starting XI.

Following Mullin’s suspension, you would expect the Welshman and talisman to return to the starting XI straight away. This would have to see Sam Dalby drop to the bench for the first time, in League Two, since mid October.

Wrexham predicted XI: Okonkwo, Forde, Hayden, Tozer, O’Connor, McAlinden, Jones, Evans, Lee, Palmer, Mullin
