Wrexham returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, beating Crawley Town 2-1 thanks to Elliot Lee’s late winner.
Phil Parkinson needed to see a response from Wrexham after the meek 3-2 defeat to Stevenage in midweek.
Big changes were made; linked-away Ollie Palmer wasn’t even in the squad whilst Arthur Okonkwo found himself on the bench.
The early signs were positive as Wrexham took a very early lead with Matty James arriving into the box to sweep home.
Wrexham faded a little in the second half though and appeared to be heading for a draw as Bradley Ibrahim’s sunning strike pulled Crawley level.
Elliot Lee had the last laugh though as he headed home Ryan Longman’s cross in the 95th minute, sparking wild scenes among the travelling Wrexham fans.

Rob McElhenney sends Wrexham message
Wrexham weren’t exactly back to ‘normal’ here but we did see debuts for new signings Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez.
The first half was positive but Wrexham allowed the game to drift and gave Crawley hope of a leveller.
That goal came with a quite stunning goal but Wrexham still managed to carve out that winning goal and get back to winning ways.
Parkinson will still want more quality moving forward but a win at least gives Wrexham a positive start to February after a difficult January.
Wrexham fans everywhere will feel a little better than on Tuesday night and Rob McElhenney has now shared a message on social media.
Posting on X, McElhenney simply stated ‘Never give up on anything from Wrexham’ alongside the word ‘wow’.
Wrexham’s late show clearly impressed McElhenney from many miles away, though we can imagine his heart rate was as frantic as any other supporter.
How Wrexham’s rivals fared on Saturday
Wrexham picked up a crucial win, at least rebounding from Tuesday’s win even if the performance was still a touch patchy.
The victory means that Wrexham have cut the gap to second-placed Wycombe Wanderers to just four points again.
Wycombe opened up a six-point gap on Tuesday night but only drew 1-1 at Cambridge United on Saturday.
Wrexham took full advantage and even saw Huddersfield Town slip up with a defeat at Northampton Town.
Stockport County have now jumped up to fourth place after their win at Leyton Orient, but are still five points shy of Wrexham.
Birmingham City may be moving over the hill and far away but Wrexham remain in a strong position for potential promotion.
