Wrexham could sanction another exit before the close of the transfer window on Monday evening.
Business started off slowly at the Racecourse Ground but there have now been multiple incomings and exits in the 2025 winter window.
After returning to Wrexham at the beginning of the month, Jake Bickerstaff extended his stay at Altrincham, signing another six-month loan deal with the National League side.
Forward Billy Waters has joined Oldham Athletic on a permanent transfer after he spent the first half of the 2024/25 season on loan with Halifax Town.
More recently, meanwhile, Rob McElhenney sent a message to James Jones after it was confirmed on January 31st that the midfielder had left the Red Dragons to join Burton Albion.
The same day saw Wrexham sign Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez and their arrivals have led to interest in some of Phil Parkinson’s other players.

Clubs looking at Ollie Palmer after Wrexham sign duo
With Rodriguez and Smith, Parkinson has seven natural centre-forward plus Elliot Lee and Ryan Longman as potential striker options.
That’s obviously too many and changes will have to be made before the end of the transfer window.
On this front, an update has now been provided by journalist Nathan Salt who revealed interest in Ollie Palmer via X/Twitter.
He wrote: “Understand multiple clubs have made enquiries to Wrexham about Ollie Palmer this afternoon after the arrival of Sam Smith. Told no decision made yet on an exit. Talks continuing for player and club.”
When asked in the comment section of the post if it would be a loan or permanent move, he replied: “Difficult to say. From conversations I’ve had I’d consider both on the table if club decide to move him. Lots of EFL teams making enquiries for Palmer and Mullin today.”
Ollie Palmer transfer value
Palmer has not had a great 2024/25, with just three League One goals scored in 27 appearances.
He is also now 33 years of age so, despite only signing a new contract earlier this season, it’s easy to see why Wrexham may want to move him on.
As per Opta, Palmer has contested 329 aerial duels this season – the most in the third tier by some distance.
His exit may led to Parkinson having to change his approach slightly but Smith is also a target man despite being a few inches smaller.
Currently, Transfermarkt value Palmer at €125,000, a fair bit less than Wrexham initially paid for him back in 2022.
