Opta’s supercomputer has increased the chances of Wrexham being relegated from the Championship in 2025/26 after their meeting with Stoke City.

Wrexham were left to rue their missed chances and costly errors at the bet365 Stadium.

Ryan Longman should have put the visitors in front midway through the first half, but when all was said and done, they lost 1-0 to Stoke.

Phil Parkinson’s side are now on a four-game winless run in the Championship, and their relegation chances have increased.

Wrexham Championship relegation chances increase after Stoke City

Wrexham drew 1-1 with Birmingham City prior to the October international break.

After that stalemate, Opta’s supercomputer said the Dragons had a 7.24% chance of making the play-offs, while their relegation chances were 17.82%.

Now, Opta have increased the likelihood of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s team dropping down to League One come May to 20.50%.

As expected, they are also less likely to finish inside the top six after Saturday (5.72%).

How likely are Wrexham to beat Oxford United

Wrexham must now look ahead towards a tough week of football with fixtures against Oxford United and promotion-challenging Middlesbrough.

A victory against Boro seems unlikely, so their best chance of securing three points for the first time since September will likely come against Oxford on Wednesday.

On that front, Opta make Wrexham favourites for the game, giving them a 48.4% chance of winning.

But it’s worth noting that Parkinson and co. are at home in midweek, where they have not won a single league game this season.
