Wrexham are just one game away from their first trip to Wembley since 2022.
Phil Parkinson’s side host Peterborough United in the semi final of the EFL Trophy at the Racecourse Ground knowing they are one win away from a clash with rivals Birmingham City at Wembley.
The Wrexham manager is expected to name a strong line up in the Wrexham predicted XI with Jack Marriott in line for a rare start up top against his former side.
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson is hoping to stop a ‘Hollywood’ final but is expected to name a much-changed side with huge League One encounter on the horizon for his side against Shrewsbury Town.

Wrexham and Peterborough share extraordinary League One statistic
Despite sitting 17 places apart in the League One table, Peterborough have demonstrated that Wrexham will need to show the utmost respect to the Posh’s attacking threat.
Both sides have scored 48 goals in the league, just ten behind the league’s top scorers Wycombe Wanderers. However, the difference is in defence, with Ferguson’s side having real trouble keeping the ball out of their own net.
Wrexham’s defence have conceded just 28 goals, the joint-second best in the division. Meanwhile, for sorry Peterborough, they have shipped in 58 to equal the division’s worst defensive record with Crawley Town.
In order to reach Wembley, the Red Dragons will have to ensure that they are aware of the considerable threat posed by Peterborough as chances will come at the end other end for the likes of Sam Smith and Marriott.
Phil Parkinson searching for consistency in his back three
There were more changes to Wrexham’s back three during their 2-1 victory over Mansfield as Thomas O’Connor came back into the side following a two game absence.
Lewis Brunt was left out of the team despite having formed a solid foundation with Max Cleworth and Eoghan O’Connell in recent weeks.

Parkinson praised the performance of Cleworth after the defender scored his eighth goal of the season at Field Mill but the manager is yet to find a consistent partnership for the 22-year-old defender.
He can ill-afford to take any chances against a potent Peterborough attack and the Red Dragons boss will know that consistency is defence will be key to building momentum in their promotion push.
