Phil Parkinson deserves immense credit for treble-promotion
For any side to rise from the National League to the Championship with consecutive promotions, no matter the budget for that team, is simply impeccable, and whilst the cliché of it being a Hollywood storyline for the club is certainly overused, there is no more fitting way to describe it.
Often you see teams in the EFL handed a big budget, but not used smartly, and that has not been the case at Wrexham, who have carefully constructed a side that Parkinson knows he can get the best out of, utilising a wealth of experience within the ranks, with youngsters dotted around.
Reynolds and McElhenney are certainly the poster boys of Wrexham’s rapid rise, from the mire, but Parkinson’s contribution should never go unnoticed.
