Wrexham were without Elliot Lee and Ryan Hardie for their Championship meeting with Norwich City.

Phil Parkinson made some big changes to his squad when Wrexham faced Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

After returning from injury, Josh Windass was put straight back into the starting eleven, playing just behind Kieffer Moore.

In midfield, Ben Sheaf, who joined from Coventry City over the summer, was given his first start alongside Lewis O’Brien and George Dobson.

Further back, there were two big calls made by the Wrexham manager versus Norwich City.

James McClean lost his starting place at left-wing-back for Ryan Longman, while Issa Kabore made his debut.

There was, however, no room in the squad for either Elliot Lee or Ryan Hardie.

Hardie caused mixed reactions from Wrexham fans during his last outing against Queens Park Rangers.

But neither he nor Lee featured on September 20 despite travelling to Carrow Road.

The duo are not injured and simply did not make the team on the day.

However, as per Rich Fay and Nathan Salt’s Rob Ryan Red X/Twitter account, they made the trip to Norwich in case there were any injuries in the build-up to the game.

Elliot Lee could leave Wrexham

Hardie has played regularly since his move from Plymouth Argyle in June.

However, Lee could have left Wrexham in the summer transfer window, but a move never came to pass.

Instead, he has not featured in a single Championship fixture since the 2025/26 campaign kicked off.

There has been a suggestion that Lee won’t play for Wrexham this season, leaving his future heavily in doubt.

He was their top goalscorer last term, but the influx of new forwards has pushed him down the pecking order.
