Wrexham have not been shy about dropping previously important stars, and another player could follow in the footsteps of Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin.
Since the Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac takeover, Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer have firmly cemented themselves as club icons.
Mullin has 110 goals for the Red Dragons, and while Palmer did not score as much, his connection with the on-loan striker was so key to Wrexham escaping the National League and reaching the third tier.
However, despite their contributions in the Reynolds and Mac era, both strikers were deemed surplus to requirements this year.
Phil Parkinson explained why he dropped Mullin and Palmer in early 2025, and both have now left the club.

Wrexham star facing same fate as Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer
Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan deal, while Palmer has moved to Swindon Town permanently.
Now, Nathan Salt has suggested that Elliot Lee is facing a similar fate in the current campaign.
Neither centre-forward played a league fixture after January 28, and so far in 2025/26, Lee hasn’t featured once in the Championship.
On Lee’s reduced role, Salt said on the Rob Ryan Red podcast:”While you can’t live in the past, Parky and the ownership have been comfortable enough to move on from playing legends.
“Mullin, Palmer you know we didn’t see Elliot Lee on the bench at the weekend.
“I think he will be watching from the sidelines a lot like us, unless there are major injuries and even now they’ve got injuries and he’s still not making a nine-man bench.”

Elliot Lee Wrexham stats
There were reports during the 2025 summer transfer window that Lee could leave Wrexham.
For whatever reason, a move did not happen, and he’s now been handed a reduced role in 2025/26, not even being named on the bench against QPR last week.
Josh Windass is now back from injury as well, which will likely only further reduce his chances of featuring in the second tier.
While his long-term future appears to be away from the Racecourse Ground, Lee has been immense for Wrexham in the last few years.
He was their top scorer in 2024/25 with nine goals in all competitions, and has found the back of the net a total of 40 times and assisted 10 in 149 games during his spell in Wales.
