Wrexham suffered another defeat on Saturday, losing 3-2 at home to West Brom in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Wrexham were beaten 3-2 by West Brom in the Championship early kick-off on Saturday. It’s another defeat for Phil Parkinson’s side who have lost their opening two games of the season.
With plenty of talking points from the game once again. The opening day defeat against Southampton boasted many more positives than the defeat against West Brom.
Parkinson’s side looked like they ran out of ideas against a good, but not amazing West Brom side.
Lewis O’Brien scored his first goal for the club in the first half to make the game 1-1. But two second half goals won it for the Baggies as Sam Smith scored a late consolation goal.

Wrexham goalkeeper Danny Ward at fault vs West Brom
The second goal came from Jed Wallace. The former Millwall man had only just come off the bench before rifling home at the near post of Danny Ward. Ward kept his spot in goal, having unexpectedly started the opening day game against Southampton.
And whilst the Welsh international didn’t make any errors against Southampton, many fans think he should have done a lot better for Wallace’s goal, which went right past him at the near post from relatively close range.

Wrexham fans have plenty to say about Danny Ward after West Brom error
Needless to say, there were plenty of Wrexham fans on social media unhappy with Ward and criticising his performance, particularly conceding at the near post to Wallace.
One Wrexham fan wrote: “Very bad goalkeeping again from Ward”, as another similar comment read: “That is pure and simple bad goalkeeping at any level. Wasn’t even a decent shot.”
Other Wrexham fans weighed in, writing: “Get rid of him, he can’t dive. Shambles.” Another Wrexham supporter posted: “Phil Parkinson seriously needs to think about Danny Ward as his number one.”
Meanwhile, other fans directly called for Arthur Okonkwo to be reinstated. “Bring back Arthur,” wrote one Wrexham supporter. Okonkwo started in Wrexham’s midweek win over Hull City in the Carabao Cup, but don’t expect Parkinson to start chopping and changing his goalkeepers too early.
Next up, the Dragons play Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship next week.
