Wrexham clashed with a struggling Sheffield Wednesday in a Championship fixture on Saturday.

After two defeats in a row this season, Wrexham could not have asked for a better start against the Owls.

Kieffer Moore opened the scoring with 15 minutes played.

The summer addition then made it 2-0 to the Red Dragons before the break, and Phil Parkinson’s side were cruising.

However, the Welsh side lost their momentum in the second half and were punished.

Sheffield Wednesday pulled a goal back in the 63rd minute before Bailey Cadamarteri made it 2-2 in the 81st minute, leaving both sides without a win this season.

Wrexham fans message to Phil Parkinson

Fans have now sent a clear message to Parkinson after the equaliser saw Wrexham draw 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday.

Many hit out at the manager amid their poor start to life in the Championship.

One fan wrote: “If Parkinson can’t find a way to eliminate these prolonged stretches of lifelessness, he needs to go. Plain and simple.”

A second added: “Poor tactics by the manager again… Should’ve won today…..”

“Absolutely pathetic to be drawing a team who has had no new players, no pre-season and has lost the last two! If we cannot beat teams like this then I don’t see us staying up! Maybe everyone was right when they said the championship is too hard for Parky!” a third stated.

A fourth questioned: “Not staying up with Parky in charge, he’s had unbelievable backing and can’t beat the worst team in the league after being two up, who is he going to beat?”

Another fan tweeted: “Parking the bus and not seeking possession is just losing football for a team like Wrexham in a league like the Championship. Tactics have to change or management does.”

While a sixth added: “Get Phil out of this club. Any manager that starts a 36-year-old Danny Ward in 2025 deserves no pity.”

Phil Parkinson Championship record

After drawing on Saturday, Parkinson remains on 26 wins from 144 games in the second tier with various clubs.

Parkinson’s future at Wrexham has been questioned already and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the manager.

He has plenty of credit in the bank but with some tough opponents coming up, it’s hard to see where Wrexham will pick up their first win of the season.
