Wrexham are back in League One action against Exeter City on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Dragons go into the game looking to avoid a third successive defeat for the first time this season.

Wrexham lost 1-0 to Stockport County in their previous League One fixture after being beaten by Port Vale in the EFL Trophy.

While there is no by means any reason to panic just yet, Phil Parkinson is no doubt keen to see his side get back to winning ways this weekend.

Wrexham go into the game third in the League One table, while Exeter City are currently sat ninth.

But there are just five points separating the two teams at present, with Exeter having a game in hand on the Welsh side.

Here is everything you need to know about Wrexham ahead of their latest League One fixture.

Wrexham team and injury news vs Exeter City

Wrexham are set to be without a number of first-team players for their meeting with Exeter.

George Evans and Jack Marriott are long-term absentees, while Steven Fletcher, Arthur Okonkwo and Jamie Jones are also sidelined.

Parkinson confirmed Evans, Jones and Fletcher are nearing a Wrexham return when speaking this week but all three, along with Marriott, will miss out on Saturday.

Elsewhere, after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last weekend, Andy Cannon is now suspended for the Exeter meeting.

And while not a problem for this game, both James McClean and George Dobson are in danger of being suspended for the Lincoln City clash on Tuesday if either of them pick up a booking on November 23rd.

Wrexham predicted lineup vs Exeter City

Goals have been a problem for Wrexham since Marriott suffered his long-term injury.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson was signed on a free last month to fill the void but after blanking against Stockport, he is likely to be dropped this weekend.

Modou Faal is a potential option to replace him but, despite his struggles in front of goal, Paul Mullin is likely to partner Ollie Palmer up front.

Elsewhere in the team, there are not expected to be too many changes, barring one that is enforced.

With Cannon suspended, Ollie Rathbone should be handed a rare start alongside Dobson and Elliot Lee in midfield.

The former Rotherham United man is yet to set the world alight since his summer switch but Rathbone was dubbed ‘excellent’ by a Wrexham legend recently and will no doubt be eager to use this clash as a way to prove himself to Parkinson.

Here’s how we think Wrexham will line up against Exeter on Saturday…
