In what is a repeat of their FA Cup replay in 2023, Wrexham travel to Sheffield United in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
Wrexham are buoyed by their opening day 3-2 victory against Wycombe Wanderers at the Racecourse Ground, as they capped their League One return with three points.
Jack Marriott was one of the names on the scoresheet, scoring a wonderful volley that left co-owner Rob McElhenney in awe of the 29-year-old.
The Reds will want to use that positive spirit for their trip to Bramall Lane, where they’ll face Championship side Sheffield United.
Chris Wilder’s men also marked their return to the second tier with three points, overcoming the challenge of Preston North End on Friday night.

Wrexham team news ahead of Sheffield United
Following their win over Wycombe, Wrexham have no new injury concerns, which will be music to the ears of Phil Parkinson.
Goal machine Paul Mullin was back on the grass on August 8th however, it’s unlikely the 29-year-old will be risked against the Blades.
Wing-back Jacob Mendy also missed their League One opener through injury but the Gambian international is still making a full recovery from the surgery he had to mend his hamstring.
It means that Parkinson almost has a fully fit squad to choose from, where it’s likely he’ll make multiple changes and utilise the full depth of his squad.

Wrexham predicted lineup vs Sheffield United
Arthur Okonkwo started between the sticks against Wycombe however, a Carabao Cup fixture could give Callum Burton the opportunity to make his full debut for the club.
Ahead of Burton, it’s unlikely the Wrexham boss will drop Max Cleworth after his superb display against the Chair Boys while Tom O’Connor offers balance on the left.
Although that doesn’t mean central centre-back Eoghan O’Connell won’t drop out, with new signing Dan Scarr potentially making his debut.
In the two wing-back roles, Ryan Barnett and James McClean were the preferred options at the weekend but some rotation could allow Luke Bolton to start on the right and Sebastian Revan utilised on the left.
As for Parkinson’s midfield, the positions of Elliot Lee and Andy Cannon look assured while George Dobson could be rested for the ‘irreplaceable’ George Evans, who can slot into the starting XI at the base of midfield.
With the Reds returning to a trio that worked so well for them last term, they’ll surely keep with a strikeforce that worked against Wycombe in Ollie Palmer and Marriott, although don’t be surprised if Steven Fletcher comes in for Palmer.
Wrexham (3-5-2): Burton; Cleworth, Scarr, O’Connor; Bolton, Cannon, Evans Lee, Revan; Marriott, Palmer.
