Wrexham are competing in the second tier of English football for the first time in 43 years, with Birmingham City their latest Championship fixture.
Phil Parkinson will be determined to deliver a first win at the Racecourse Ground in the league this season, having drawn two of their four home fixtures so far.
The Red Dragons boss will take confidence from the performances of Wrexham players against Leicester City midweek against the odds, battling from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium.
Should the Welsh club carry on this level of performance, there will be a belief they should beat the Blues this Friday night in the second tier.
Wrexham can go four games unbeaten in the second tier for the first time since 1982
The Red Dragons have been in fine form for the last two weeks, beginning with their victory against Norwich City, a win that led to Phil Parkinson sending a defiant message.
There was growing pressure on the Wrexham manager at this point, but in just a fortnight everything has changed, as they have gone unbeaten in the last three Championship fixtures.
Birmingham stand in the way of the Welsh club from going four games unbeaten in the second tier for the first time since 1982, when Wrexham went eight matches without losing.

Birmingham City’s recent away record should give Wrexham confidence
Wrexham have struggled at home this season, as they are still looking for their first league win at the Racecourse Ground, with fans hopeful they can achieve this on their fifth attempt.
The Red Dragons have impressed on the road, though, in the Championship, as they have secured seven of their nine points on the road.
While Parkinson’s side have found it difficult in front of their own fans, they will take confidence from the away record of Birmingham City in the league this campaign.
The Blues have since lost each of their last three on the road without scoring a single goal and could lose four on the bounce without scoring for the first time since October 2013.
