Wrexham are set to face Birmingham City in the Championship at the Racecourse Ground this Friday evening.

Tom Brady will not be at the Wrexham fixture at the weekend in Wales, with his co-owner Tom Wagner set to be in attendance.

The Blues will be disappointed they had to rescue a draw against Sheffield Wednesday in stoppage time, as pressure seems to be growing on manager Chris Davies.

Meanwhile, Phil Parkinson’s side managed to earn a draw against Leicester City, coming from behind to secure the result through a Nathan Broadhead goal, with the boss being impressed by the Wrexham players’ performance.

One of the best-performing players during the Leicester fixture has now spoken about how important the clash at the weekend is.

Matty James believes it is important to remain focused on the Birmingham City challenge

Wrexham and Birmingham City are arguably two of the most covered clubs in England over the past season due to who owns the clubs.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac own the Red Dragons, while Tom Brady is a co-owner at the Blues, bringing more attention to the clubs, and now Matty James has revealed the important detail to securing a win in the fixture.

Speaking to the BBC, he said: “The owners are superstars in their own right in different industries, and I think naturally that brings a huge amount of media attention that can sometimes kind of distract you away from what is actually going on.

“I think certainly the outside noise is very, very big. But for us as a group, I think when you are at Wrexham, we are kind of used to it a little bit.

“Birmingham it’s a little bit new over the last couple of years, but for us, we let the outside noise do what it needs to do. We’ll go out there, put a performance in and hopefully get the three points on Friday night.”
