Wrexham are facing Derby County in the Championship, with the Red Dragons looking to secure their first home win of the campaign.
Phil Parkinson will look for his team to take confidence not only from their midweek victory over Reading in the EFL Cup but also from Wrexham’s first win over Norwich City in 55 years from last weekend.
However, they must overcome Derby County, who Wrexham have not beaten in 45 years, with their squad determined to secure their second victory of the campaign.
The Red Dragons have not won in the second tier at the Racecourse for 43 years, with this being the last time they featured in the division before this campaign.
While it could be an important first for Wrexham, it will also be a significant milestone for one Derby County star, one which was ‘a bit surprising’ to him.

Craig Forsyth is surprised to be playing Wrexham at the Racecourse for the first time ever
Derby County’s Craig Forsyth will not be the only player this campaign that has not made the trip to the Racecourse before due to the meteoric rise of Wrexham with their three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship.
Obviously, this has been driven by the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, with Wrexham a fresh face in the Championship.
Speaking ahead of Derby’s fixture with their club channels, Craig Forsyth was pleasantly surprised to make his first trip to Wrexham as a footballer.
He said: “I mean, at this stage it’s a bit surprising to find a new one [stadium to play in], but no, not particularly.
“It’s kind of you rock up, and you just get on with your job.
“There will not be too much excitement for my part.”

Craig Forsyth has been following the Wrexham journey closely through former teammates
While the Derby star may be slightly surprised that he is set to travel to a stadium he has yet to play in, despite being fully focused on his task at hand for the Rams, he has followed the Welsh club’s journey.
Clubs and players throughout English football are aware of the well-documented rise through the divisions the Red Dragons have been on since the change of ownership, and Forsyth is the exact same.

He said: “Obviously, the publicity that it’s had has you kind of dip in and out. You read bits, and obviously there are players that I’ve played with here and gone there.
“So, you kind of follow it through their story as well. It’s obviously an amazing story the way it’s happened, and they are obviously looking to take the next step, and we’ve got to come up against them on Saturday, and we want to come back with points.”
