In their opening four league games of the season, Wrexham have been able to select any player they like.

That is because clubs do not have to submit their squad lists to the EFL until 7pm BST on September 2 (24 hours after the close of the transfer window).

However, with that deadline approaching, Phil Parkinson will have some difficult decisions to make when it comes to his squad selection.

Wrexham can still sell multiple players in September

Wrexham signed three players on deadline day and let three go: George Evans, Jacob Mendy and Tom O’Connor.

Therefore, given they have 29 players aged 21 or above still on their books, four must be left out of Wrexham’s Championship squad.

It’s not an ideal situation for those stars, who, if they stay, will not be able to play in the league until January 2026.

However, the worldwide transfer window offers a chance for any unwanted players to secure moves away from Wrexham over the next few weeks.

While the Premier League and EFL window shut on Monday, there are still several leagues able to make additions, as per the BBC.

Who could leave Wrexham

It seems likely we won’t see Andy Cannon named in the squad, given he is still injured.

As for the other three players, Eoghan O’Connell has fallen down the pecking order yet again with the addition of Dom Hyam on September 1.

Further forward, Jay Rodriguez is facing a ton of new competition in the striker position.

As for who will be the other player to miss out on Parkinson’s 25-man squad, players like Dan Scarr and Elliot Lee will have a lot of players ahead of them in their positions as well.
