Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have helped fellow Championship club Sheffield Wednesday in their fight against Dejphon Chansiri as the Red Dragons raise a significant five-figure sum.
Wrexham welcomed Sheffield Wednesday to the Racecourse Ground this weekend, which saw the two sides play out a 2-2 draw.
Whilst it was a disappointing score for Wrexham, who led 2-0 courtesy of a brace from Kieffer Moore before Sheffield Wednesday bagged two goals in the second half to level the game, the Red Dragons shone with their solidarity and support for the Owls in the midst of an incredibly difficult situation.
This summer has seen Sheffield Wednesday struggle under the stewardship of unpopular owner Dejphon Chansiri, who has been blamed for the mass departure of players, whilst also struggling to pay staff on time.
Ahead of the game, Wrexham owner Rob Mac vowed to donate money to the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust from the money spent on the Red Dragons’ 2024/25 gold kit.
The amount raised by both Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday supporters has now been revealed, and it is an amount that will make a significant difference for the Owls.

How much Wrexham raised for the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust
Wrexham put their gold 2024/25 away kit on sale ahead of this weekend’s game, as confirmed by Rob Mac.
Following the game, it was revealed, via The Athletic, that a total of 1,500 shirts were sold both online and in the city centre club shops.
At £25 per shirt, with the club pledging all money to go towards the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust, that means that £37,500 was raised.
As the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust continues its fight against Dejphon Chansiri, they will significantly benefit from the five-figure sum raised by Wrexham supporters, who were seen in their masses wearing the kit at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday fans will always remember Wrexham gesture
Just like the situation that Sheffield Wednesday currently face, Wrexham have also been staring down the barrel of such concerns. Less than 15 years ago, in their darkest hour, Wrexham supporters raised £100,000 to save the club.
Wrexham’s previous struggles have made them aware of the true difficulty of getting out of such a situation, which is why they have stood in solidarity with Sheffield Wednesday.
Following the game on Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday fans have thanked Wrexham for the support they showed them on the day, whether it is allowing the banner to be let into the Racecourse Ground, or the chants in unison with each other.
