Ollie Palmer may have already played his last game for Wrexham after what Phil Parkinson has now said

Phil Parkinson made some interesting comments after Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday.

Wrexham drew 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday after blowing a two-goal lead with a second-half collapse.

Phil Parkinson has drawn the ire of fans following the display, with many questioning his tactics and ability to manage at this level.

Kieffer Moore was Wrexham’s standout performer against the Owls, but there was once again no room on the bench for Ollie Palmer.

Comments made by Parkinson after the stalemate may suggest we will not see the 33-year-old in a Wrexham shirt again.

Phil Parkinson comments bad news for Ollie Palmer

Parkinson said that he thinks Palmer will leave Wrexham earlier this month.

The centre-forward was then gifted a shock place on the bench against Hull City in the Carabao Cup last week.

Palmer scored twice against Hull and some may have believed it was enough to see him reintegrated back into the squad, even if it was only in a substitute role.

However, it now seems as though the Englishman will be one of the names leaving the club before the deadline on September 1.

After Sheffield Wednesday, Parkinson commented on players leaving Wrexham, saying more exits are expected.

He said: “There’s bits and pieces going on [incomings/outgoings]… We will review this game and have a chat as a staff tomorrow. One or two players may be going and one or two may be coming in.”

Given that several fringe players like Sebastian Revan and Modou Faal have already left, it does seem likely that Palmer, after already being told he can go, will be one of the players Parkinson was talking about post-Wednesday.

Players who could leave Wrexham

Away from Palmer, there could be a couple more names that could move on before the transfer window shuts.

Parkinson has already said Jacob Mendy could leave on loan this summer.

He continues to earn a place on the bench in the league, but that is most likely due to Liberato Cacace being injured.

Elsewhere, it has been reported this week that Jack Marriott is wanted by Reading.

The striker is yet to feature in the Championship for Wrexham this term.
