Wrexham are in contention for promotion to the Championship after major influence from two big names in Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
The end of the 2024-25 season is now in sight, and Wrexham fans are in the midst of another promotion push.
Wrexham drew at Wigan Athletic over the weekend but still sit second in the League One table.
A third promotion in a row would be a remarkable achievement, even with the backing from Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Wrexham have benefited massively from the impact of McElhenney and Reynolds, sparking big-name investment elsewhere.
J.J. Watt and Tom Brady are involved at Burnley and Birmingham City, respectively, whilst former Premier League boss Billy Davies claims other A-listers are chasing football investments.

Swansea City welcome Luka Modric
There is now more big-name investment in Welsh football after Swansea City confirmed their newest backer.
Wrexham may have taken the route of Hollywood celebrities in Reynolds and McElhenney, but Swansea have welcomed football royalty.
Swansea have confirmed that Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric has joined the club ‘as an investor and co-owner’.
The Croatian midfielder – who won the Ballon d’Or back in 2019 – believes that his experience at the top level of the game can help the Swans.
This move seems truly strange, but everybody thought the same thing about McElhenney and Reynolds’ Wrexham takeover in 2021.
We love looking at the big-name investments flooding into football at the moment, and we certainly feel that McElhenney and Reynolds have played a key role in that trend.
Their takeover has transformed Wrexham as a club and as a city whilst allowing their star power to grow to a new audience.
Modric is already in football, but he will find Wales to be a welcoming place as he explores a new avenue – just as McElhenney and Reynolds did.
This may also be another boost to the profile of Welsh football, with Modric bringing new eyes from Croatia and Spain to Swansea, much like McElhenney and Reynolds with the North American market at Wrexham.
Modric deal tees up potential Wrexham clash
Welsh football could see three clubs represent the country in the Championship next season.
Cardiff City would need to stay up, and Wrexham would need to go up, but there is a chance we see a series of Welsh clashes in the second tier.
Again, this can only be good for Welsh football, and the prospect of Modric rubbing shoulders with McElhenney and Reynolds is a fascinating one.
McElhenney, Brady and David Beckham all attended Wrexham’s defeat at Birmingham City earlier this season, so we could easily see Modric thrown into the mix down the line.
Wrexham need to get over the line and secure that third straight promotion, which won’t be easy with Wycombe Wanderers providing stern competition, but a high-profile clash could materialise next season.
