Wrexham returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, coming from behind to beat Norwich City 3-2 away at Carrow Road.

A long trip to Norwich City didn’t sound ideal after Wrexham’s 3-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers, but the Canaries’ home record offered hope.

Norwich had lost two from two at home this season, and Wrexham have now made it three from three.

Jack Stacey’s first-half goal fired Norwich ahead, but Josh Windass equalised straight after half-time.

Ryan Longman and another Windass goal handed Wrexham a 3-1 lead, before Jovon Mokoma pulled one back late on.

BBC pundit praises Wrexham after beating Norwich City

Wrexham fans rallied behind Phil Parkinson ahead of the game, and coming away with all three points makes the weekend even sweeter.

Beating Millwall and Norwich City away from home should not be brushed off, and Wrexham must use another great away day to spark improved home form.

Wrexham have now been praised by pundit Sam Parkin, who told BBC Sport that he has ‘no real concerns’ about Wrexham’s fortunes this season.

Parkin highlighted that Parkinson has great options in his squad after Wrexham made 13 summer signings, and his tactical switch to push summer signing Lewis O’Brien further forward against Norwich paid dividends.

Parkin added that Wrexham still need to improve defensively, but he doesn’t think there is any real danger of relegation, due to the options at Parkinson’s disposal.

“There were wholesale changes for Phil Parkinson this season, not in style but certainly personnel. They’ve got a good squad and have the ability to change things,” said Parkin.

“That is the sign of a good manager; he has been getting criticised, but to be adaptable with his starting line-up is a start. It proved really productive.

“Norwich are probably a really good team for them to face because they are giving up so many chances. Wrexham are creating chances, but defensively, they have not been good enough. I’ve no doubt they will score goals, but it’s about being better at the back.

“They just about got the job done. I’ve no real concerns about Wrexham because the squad is so strong,” he added.

Wrexham have a chance to make it a perfect week with two home wins

Wrexham appear to be a real threat on the road, beating Millwall and Norwich City, while even coming close to a result at Southampton on the opening day.

One point from three home games isn’t an ideal start, but Saturday’s win at Norwich should inspire major confidence through this Wrexham squad.

The attention now turns to the Carabao Cup as Wrexham host Reading at the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham have already seen off two Championship rivals in Hull City and Preston North End, so Parkinson will also look for a win over his former club on Tuesday night.

Derby County then visit the STōK Cae Ras next weekend, and the Rams haven’t exactly been in great form themselves.

John Eustace’s side have won just one of their first six games and lost 1-0 at home to Preston North End on Saturday.

This week presents a great chance for Wrexham to kick on, and three wins in the space of seven days would certainly provide cause for excitement over the season ahead.
