Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have received a lot of interest from some very rich people, according to Humphrey Ker.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham from the club’s Supporters Trust for just £2m back in 2021.

Earlier this year, it was estimated that the Red Dragons were valued at £100m – a staggering increase in the space of four years.

Wrexham posted record profits in the 2023/24 season and continue to grow on and off the pitch.

A third promotion in a row was secured last month, while the Allyn family invested in the Welsh outfit in 2024.

Billionaires have contacted Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to invest in Wrexham

The Allyn family’s net worth is huge after they sold their family business for in excess of £1bn back in 2015.

However, they are not the only billionaires to have expressed a desire to become a part of Rob and Ryan’s project.

Humphrey Ker has been discussing Wrexham’s rise to the Championship this week on the High Performance podcast.

When doing so, he was asked about the possibility of the club playing in the Premier League one day.

In his response, Ker shared that ‘dozens’ of billionaires have been in touch with Reynolds and McElhenney over the last four years to express their desire to come on board.

He stated: “I think it’s very possible [reaching the Premier League], but I think that if you know we build our training ground, and we build our stand and we renovate the stadium and we get ourselves up to like we’ve got a 20,000-seat modernish stadium that retains the charm, and we can make that jump.

“Then I think what happens is that Rob and Ryan go into their Rolodex and call up one of the dozens and dozens of people who’ve got in touch within the last four years and been like ‘hi I’m a multi, multi, multi billionaire, I want to join in on this with you’.

“They would stay on, remain in their roles, but we would have someone who could help because basically getting out of the Championship to the Premier League, you’re just lighting money.

When will Wrexham reach the Premier League

The Hollywood-backed side are now set to compete in the Championship for the first time, having last lined out in the second tier all the way back in the 1980s.

But while they are yet to even kick a ball in England’s second division this year, there is already talk about the top flight.

McElhenney hinted at another promotion push for the club in 2025/26 in a recent message he sent out.

Reynolds backs Wrexham to reach the Premier League in the space of 10 years as well.

Elsewhere, Ben Foster made his Premier League prediction for the Red Dragons after their latest promotion, and he’s also expecting them to reach the first tier in the coming years.
