Wrexham have confirmed the signing of Ben Sheaf from Coventry City, with the midfielder arriving at the Racecourse Ground on a three-year deal.
It has been regarded as an incredible coup for Wrexham, with Phil Parkinson successfully bolstering his midfield options.
The Red Dragons’ new signing has already shown plenty of promise in his career, with a notable performance against Man United in an FA Cup semi-final standing out.

Coventry City fans left ‘genuinely gutted’ as Wrexham sign Ben Sheaf
Following the announcement of Ben Sheaf’s move to Wrexham from Coventry City, Sky Blues fans have already targeted the decision as a huge mistake from their point of view.
One fan suggested that they were ‘genuinely gutted’ after sanctioning the sale, which ‘feels like a mistake’.
Another supporter described him as a ‘great player with top-level potential’, but one that was ‘ruined by injury’ during his tenure at the CBS Arena.
The ‘class’ former Coventry City player has been praised by another fan, who said: “What a player, hopefully he can stay injury-free and get a part in the new Deadpool film.”
One supporter then summed up the fanbases’ fury, having said: “Crazy decision selling a class act to one of your rivals.”
Ben Sheaf career stats
Wrexham signing and former Coventry City midfielder Ben Sheaf was a key player at his previous club, having tallied 177 appearances for the Sky Blues, notching nine goals and 11 assists.
The Red Dragons’ newest recruit has had injury troubles in the past, but has still played a significant role in the last few Championship seasons, having averaged 31.5 appearances in the past three campaigns.
Sheaf consistently notched 30+ appearances in each Championship season with Coventry until the 2024/25 campaign, which saw him play 29 despite suffering from an ankle and a calf injury at times.
To make things even more exciting for the new Wrexham signing, he has also found himself at Arsenal as a youngster, where he played in the Europa League, albeit for one minute in an away victory against Red Star Belgrade. He also appeared for six minutes in the 2017/18 EFL Cup quarter final from off the bench in a 1-0 home win against West Ham United.
