Wrexham are back in Championship action on August 23, taking on Sheffield Wednesday.
After two defeats in a row this season, the Dragons now have arguably their best opportunity of the season so far to pick up three points.
Wrexham are predicted to beat Sheffield Wednesday at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday by two EFL pundits.
Opta’s supercomputer, which backed the correct winner in their previous two league games, also makes Phil Parkinson’s side favourites to win.
Now, the EFL have made an announcement ahead of Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday that should please fans.

EFL announce Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday referee
Wrexham have already been subject to one questionable refereeing decision this season, when a Southampton player was not shown a card against the Dragons despite giving away a penalty.
But the referee who will take charge of this weekend’s fixture has a more positive history with the Welsh side.
The EFL have announced that Farai Hallam will referee the Sheffield Wednesday match, with Alistair Nelson and James Wilson acting as his assistants and Simon Mather the fourth official.
Hallam took charge of Huddersfield Town vs Wrexham in March 2025.
That fixture ended 1-0 to the Red Dragons thanks to a 73rd-minute goal from Steven Fletcher.
However, there was controversy surrounding the goal, as per Wales Online, who say it led to ‘strong criticism of referee Farai Hallam after the game, with some Terriers supporters even accusing him of showing favouritism’.
Huddersfield manager at the time, Michael Duff, was not happy with Fletcher’s strike standing either.
He said after the game: “We’ve been done. I think there was a foul in the build-up to the goal and it ricocheted and bobbled around all over the place and Fletcher was stood offside. He was stood on the line.”

Farai Hallam referee record
During his career as a referee, Hallam has overseen 117 matches, the bulk of which have come in the National League South and National League.
In the Championship, he has taken charge of 14 matches, including Middlesbrough’s 1-0 win over Swansea City earlier this month.
All told, Hallam has shown 378 yellow cards, sent off seven players and awarded 20 penalties.
