Ex-Premier League manager shares Norwich City v Wrexham prediction, Phil Parkinson faces ‘massive challenge’

Wrexham travel to take on Norwich City this weekend as Phil Parkinson seeks a response after losing to Queens Park Rangers.

The last couple of games have been a case of Wrexham taking one step forward, only to then take another step back.

Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 before the international break, securing a first win of the Championship season in the process.

The international break didn’t help Wrexham, as Phil Parkinson’s side returned with a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Queens Park Rangers.

Wrexham were cut apart by the R’s and now head back on the road in search of a response this weekend.

Tony Pulis shares Norwich City v Wrexham prediction

Wrexham spent more than £30million on summer signings, but have managed just one win in the first five games of the Championship season.

Pressure is already building on Parkinson, though it would be a surprise to see Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds axe him this early in the season.

Parkinson now takes his side to Carrow Road as Wrexham seek a response against Norwich City.

The Canaries have picked up seven points from five games this season and drew with Coventry City last weekend, conceding a last-gasp goal.

Former Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has now shared his prediction for Saturday’s game while speaking on The Managers podcast.

Pulis admitted that he really fancies Norwich to win on Saturday, believing that Carrow Road is a very difficult place for Wrexham to go and play.

The Welshman added that Wrexham have had ‘a little bit of a sticky time’ in the Championship, and feels this weekend’s game is a ‘massive, massive challenge’ for Parkinson.

“I really do fancy Norwich against Wrexham,” said Pulis.

“I think Norwich have picked up of late. Going to Carrow Road is so, so difficult. Wrexham have had a little bit of a sticky time so far, and I think it’s going to be a massive, massive challenge for them. I’ve just got a feeling Norwich will win that game,” he added.

Norwich City’s poor home form gives Wrexham hope

Pulis will not be alone in backing a Wrexham defeat this weekend, especially after such a poor showing against QPR.

However, there is reason for Wrexham fans to feel optimistic ahead of the long trip to Norfolk.

Norwich’s two defeats in the Championship this season have both come at home, losing to Millwall and Middlesbrough.

Norwich have picked up seven points from a possible nine on the road, but none from a possible six at Carrow Road.

If Wrexham can frustrate Norwich and quieten the home crowd, Parkinson could hand Norwich another home defeat – but he will need to see much-improved defending in order for that to happen.
